Only Lonely
As I walk down the street, there are plenty of people to meet. They dont
have the time, they are in such a rush to get nowhere, yet somewhere.
Too busy, they walk on by, no smile or friendly expression, no words to
greet, only a sigh. Another day, another dollar, they say. Dont have
time for friends or family, got to make that hustle. Got to chase that
dream, and make that money, but what is the price that they pay? Their
families are drifting apart, their friends fade away. They feel the pain
and the sting of relationships gone awry, but they dust it off and say
it's the way its supposed to be. They dont have time to cry, to love, to
feel, they just have to hurry to make that deal. In their heart, they
pine for a better day. They say to themselves, it's the price I have to
pay. I'm only lonely, I'll get
over it. Then, they continue on, rushing here and there, trying to make
that dollar. Only when life is near it's end, as they draw their last
breath, they see that they have no one to surround them with love, then
the words come back to haunt them as they breathe their last..."I'm only
lonely".
