May I Have This Last Dance?

Throughout this life
From the time I was born
I danced the dance of life
My feet swept across the floor

As a child, I danced a silly dance
I would run, play, and laugh
But then I grew older
And soon that dance had passed

As a man, the dance had changed
Many times the beat was fast
Trials and tribulations wore me down
But I held strong until it had passed

I danced with my children
I watched them play and laugh
But now they have grown
And now dance their own path

A stranger tapped me on the shoulder
Her voice was sweet and clear
I thought I knew who she was
And my heart was struck with fear

"Do not fear me, you know who I am."
I turned and saw her amazing beauty
She asked, "may I have this last dance?"

As I gazed into her eyes
She reached and took my hand
"My name you already know"
"Let's dance across the skies!"

We waltzed across the stars
As we danced toward home
I realized I have died
I no longer have to roam

Seasons In The Forest

As I entered the forest
I could only crawl
I was guided for best
The spring began for all

As summer came I ran
And my guides began to fade
I thought I knew more than they
I thought the forest for me was made

In the autumn my sight began to fade
My bones ache and eyes grow dim
My children have their journey
As mine draws to an end

I grow tired and weary
Soon I shall forever sleep
When winter comes at the valley
Yet I will always be there
So for me do not weep.

Spring will come again
And all will be made new
I shall be in the valley
Joyfully waiting for you!

Destruction Comes

The battle is over
The smoke has cleared
I've been wounded and scarred
But I still have no fear

I'm stronger than ever
And I'm starting to rebuild
You cannot keep me down
You can't break my will!

Its easy to see what you are
How you destroy and tear
You ruin lives
And you don't even care!

But I defeated you
You couldn't tear me down
I stand alone
I stand proud!

I'm rising high
And watching you fall
Your karma is on its way
Your destruction calls!

You will learn
But its too late
What you do to others
Only increases your fate

Surely you know
Your pain will be
Three times as bad
As what you tried to do to me!

Magick Of The Night

Feel the magick in the night
Cast the circle round thrice
As you aproach the candle to light
Call forth the Elements in flight
Earth, Air, Water, Fire, Spirit
Call them to the circle now
Invoke the Goddess and God
In Perfect Love and Trust
In your work you must harm none
Follow this law you must
For if harmful intent is your course
Your fate will be three times worse
Now your spell is cast with harm to none
Dismiss the Elements, close the circle
For now you know your work is done
Eat the cakes and drink the wine
Know that the Goddess will keep you
Ground and clear excess energy
Rest and regenerate and come to know
That your spell will go unimpeded
Feel the energy through you flow.
The Goddess knows your heart
 And if intent is pure
You and Her shall never part

The Wall In Your Eyes

As I gaze into your eyes
I see who you truly are
I see your soul deep inside
I see the love in your heart

In your eyes, I see the pain
Of recent love gone wrong
I see the walls built around your heart
Yes, the bricks used are very strong

But true love can break through
Bit by bit, tiny pieces start to fall
True love is the strength needed
Patience will break down the wall

In it's place will be my arms
Nothing can shake them
No one can cause you harm

Soon you will see
The sisters of fate watched
And they guided you to me

Your heart cried to me
through your eyes and tears
"Come take me away!
Calm my storm of fear!"

My eyes spoke to you silently
As I watched your tears fall
"Here I am, my love!
I will tear down that wall!"

Dawn Of Love

Light breaks through
and scatters the night
I look into her eyes
And her touch feels so right

My spirit wakes inside
My heart races with excitement
My soul spreads it wings
Her smile makes my spirit take flight

Could this be true?
Is this right?
My morning begins with you
My heart dances with you in sight

I see your pain and tribulation
But you look upon me and smile
I dont know why, but I give you elation

Your smile, your eyes for me
I dont know what it is you see in me
I see your beauty, even in pain
Your humbleness shows me you are not vain

Down to earth, you truly have class
You laugh at my dumb jokes
You smile at me and all pain has passed

A new day has dawned
A gift from above
Yes, this is a new beginning
This is the dawn of love

Hall Of Despair

I walk down the cold hall
People around only see pain
All they can do is watch tears fall

They cannot see the man before
They dont see how happy I used to be
Now all that is shown is tears
All that remains is pain and misery

As I walk down that dark hall
Others are feeling the pain
Like me, their tears fall
Some the same pain
Others are different

One factor is constant as you look in the rooms
They come in pain and despair
They try to heal their wounds
Society looks down on us
For all they see is the rage
They shout and scream in fear
"Lock him or her in a cage!"

They dont see how this person got here
They dont see how they used to be
It seems society doesnt care
They come to heal the mind's wounds
As they walk the hall of despair

At The Gates Of Forgiveness

I see the pain I caused you
I see the hurt in your eyes
I remember how I betrayed you
And how you saw through my lies

I left you for a lesser woman
Who I thought loved me
It was not who I thought she was
And love with her was not to be

But I came to you on bended knee
Asking for another chance
You heard my cry of sorrow
You saw how I paid the price
How I had no hope for tomorrow

You took pity on me and forgave me
Though you have another man
You deserve much better
Than what I ever gave

I'm sorry I caused you so much sorrow
Your friendship you freely give
It will be much brighter tomorrow
And you made me want to live

I thank you for your forgiveness
You truly are a queen
Your friendship is a gift
I am not worthy of your kindness
You still give my soul a lift

Meeting the Goddess

As I sit and close my eyes
Light breaks the darkness
And my spirit starts to rise
I feel the voice vibrate in me
It soothes my inner being
And says, "Come and see"

As I soar through the light
A beautiful ball of energy
Is the destination of my flight
This ball of energy is pure love
As I draw near, I feel pure peace
My spirit is drawn up above

I feel it say to my spirit as I fly
"Come oh child I love, sit at my side"
I realize this is what I searched for
The Goddess has called me home.
"Soon you must go back", she says
"A little while longer you must roam"
As I sit at her side, my spirit opens up
All I have learned spills out
But more must be done

Life is about lessons we must learn
To take to the Goddess and give
Our knowledge is what She yearns
She gives us life, love, and peace
To take to others on our plane
And when we are done with our lessons
The Summerlands is what we shall gain

So back to my existence I return
To give to others what She gave me
My purpose is to help others learn.
To show them the love She placed inside me
So they too may benefit
From the gift given to me

New Beginnings

Oh the pain that shot through my heart
When you said we were through
I never wanted us to part
Don't you know I still love you?
But a new day has dawned
And light will break free
Birth from death has spawned
Giving new life to me
I see with new eyes
The pain is almost gone
Now that I'm a bit more wise
It's time for me to move on
Though my heart still yearns for you
I will seek and find
New people for me to meet
But you will always be on my mind
I will always treasure the time we spent
In each other's arms at night
But as I turn the page again
My spirit will take flight
New realms of life that I never seen before
Another arch opens up for me
After you have slammed the door
Dont fret or worry about me
I will be alright
Just think fondly of me
And watch my soul take flight

Delay in Posting

Some of you may or may not know, but I have been involved in a murder trial and had to testify and prepare for said testimony. With that being said, and sorry I didnt post a notice earlier, but things have been on my mind and I have been dealing with a LOT of emotions as events were replayed in my mind and very many hurtful memories have resurfaced and have had to deal with that. Now, that the trial is over and the person was found guilty of first degree murder and will never ever see the light of day again outside of prison bars, I am now ready to start posting regularly and get my creative juices flowing. Thank you all for being patient with me as I went through this trying time in my life.

The Daily Struggle of Man

As I strain and struggle my face turns red
I push and all the blood rushes to my head
I turn and yell to my son afar
"Damn it, hurry up and bring me a crowbar!"
As I strain, I feel the dizziness in my head
I think if this doesn't drop soon I'll be dead
When I push I feel hot pain all over
But if I stop it will be much worse
I push harder and start to curse
Pretty soon if I don't hear a plop
I will pass out, on the floor I'll drop
I feel the tear as it starts to crown
Then I feel relief as it falls down
So now that my veins have all burst in my head
I flush the toilet and go back to bed

What Do You See?

What do you see when you look into my eyes?
Do you see only another face?
Or do you look deeper at the one behind the eyes?
Do you see my soul deep in this body?
Come, see who I am deep inside
I'll tell you of accomplishments
I'll tell you of children who give me pride
I'll tell you of sorrow and hardships
Yes there were struggles and strife
Sometimes it brought me to my knees
But then the good times came
And there was joy and peace
All these things made me who I am today
The wrinkles in my eyes
were caused by my many many tears
The lines in my face are from happiness
And the many smiles over the years
Listen and learn of my hopes and dreams
Learn as I tell you of all my fears
See how the lessons of life has taught me
To seek knowledge and wisdom
Throughout the many years
When you learn to look for these in all whom you see
Then when you look into my eyes
The real me is what you'll see

Astral Flight

As I lay in my bed at night
And slowly close my eyes
I hear a loud roar as I take flight
And I feel myself start to rise
I see my body as I float above
Soon I am flying quickly
into light and land of love
My sight is crystal clear
with a clarity I've not had before
As I near the source of light
I'm thrust through a door
My body is shining and new
Attached to a silver cord
I was filled with strength and energy
Unlike any I've had before
I heard many voices around me
But the voices were not a sound
Instead it is a vibration through me
There is nothing to fear around
I am surrounded by peace and love
And the light is very bright
But it does not hurt my eyes
My worries all take flight
Soon I feel and hear the whoosh
As I am snapped back
I am back in my body in my bed
Thoughts of what has happened
And wonder fill my head
Though perplexed trying to ponder
The events of that night
I try to get back to the astral plane
I want my soul to take flight

Restaurant Review : Levanti's American Bistro

Hello blog readers, today I am going to do something different and depending on the response I get, I may do this on a monthly to biweekly basis...I'm going to review a restaurant. Now, mind you, I am not a food critic by any standards, but I could be and maybe this is a way for me to get started. Who knows? I am, after all, a chef. So, here goes!
Tonight, I am going to tell you of my experience with the restaurant Levanti's American Bistro, located in the quaint little western Pennsylvania town of Beaver. It is right on the main drag through town, also known as 3rd Street. Let me give you a brief history of this restaurant and how I came to be dining in this particular pervayer of cooked food. This is a family run restaurant that started out as an italian restaurant. This restaurant was featured two weeks ago on Gordon Ramsay's show, Kitchen Nightmares. According to the show, it was run by a brother and sister, I dont know their names. The restaurant was financed by their father. There was a lot of bickering going on between the brother and sister, they let their food standards slip, and as a result, they contacted Gordon to come and fix their issues in a week, according to the show. Gordon caught them serving tomato sauce that was moldy and sitting in a baine marie, the chicken was slimy and green cause it was so old and spoiled, so he stopped service and forced them to shut down till things got cleaned up, etc etc. That's how it went according to the show. Gordon gave them a new interior, cleaned up their act, and got them on the path to success. Show over. I actually passed the camera crew while they were filming the show back in June. This is now Febuary, and seems that business has slowed since the filming of the show, and when the show aired, I'm sure that a lot of people did not want to go to their restaurant as they may have slipped back to their old ways, as is common with those that Gordon helps. Needless to say, a friend of mine called and said "hey Gene, let's go to Levanti's and give them a try!". However, I will say I was very reluctant to go eat at this particular establishment due to the show. I finally went, preconceived notions and all. I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised!

When I walked in the door, I could see that the interior was warm and inviting...that was expected as Gordon and his film crew spent a lot of money to revamp their interior. The place was practically empty, so I immediately thought, "ok, so they went back to their ways and are suffering for it. Here we go, sigh..", but we were seated immediately and we ordered our drinks, and were given nice menus that seemed to fit a bistro. My friend ordered the wild mushroom marsala, and I ordered the wild mushroom burger with seasoned fries, salad, and as an appetizer, thai barbeque buffalo wings. When I got the wings, there seemed to be little on the plate, just a few of them. Now mind you, these are NOT wings, they are chicken tenderloins, so they are boneless and very meaty. They served them with a ranch dipping sauce and a homemade blue cheese dipping sauce. They were very delicious and even with their few numbers, quite sufficient. To me, it was a perfect combination of thai barbeque and buffalo sauce. Then came our salads. The mixed greens were perfect, the tomatoes a little ripe as they should have been firm to the bite. Yet, very flavorful. It was a perfect pallet cleansing salad. Then, our main course came. I must say I was quite shocked at the size of the burger, it was so small, I thought they made a mistake and served me a slider, as they have those on the menu as well. About that time, as I was looking over the small stature of my burger, the father came in and was interacting with customers as he walked around the dining room. I told him that the burger seems a little small, but he insisted that it was filling. So, I took the chance. Please indulge me here a bit as I describe this burger to you. This is a beef patty that is covered in mushrooms and mozzarella cheese, topped with lettuce that is tossed in a mayonnaise that is infused with truffle oil. I have to say that they did go a little heavy on the truffle oil, but still was very tasty! They gave enough seasoned fries that you would easily fill up on as well. I have no real complaints about the burger. Yes, I was very surprised at how well that burger filled me up. Now mind you, I'm a guy that can eat an entire large pizza by myself!

My friend ordered the wild mushroom marsala, and I tasted this as well. Wow, the different nuances of the many flavors danced upon my taste buds! They had the perfect combination of garlic, cream, marsala wine, and mushroom and chicken in this particular dish. Not too much sauce, just enough to flavor the penne pasta that was in the dish as well. Amazingly, they did it in such a way that you could taste each and every individual flavor! The only real disappointment was the dessert. I ordered their tiramisu. Unfortunately, this particular dessert was rather bland. Everything else was pretty much perfect. If those who work at Levanti's are reading this, can I suggest something? A little more sugar to your tiramisu and I'm sure it will be perfect. So, there you have it. I give them a four star rating! If you are ever in the town of Beaver, Pa. and need a good place to eat, I strongly suggest you stop in and check out what is going on at Levanti's American Bistro. I dont think you will be disappointed, and the prices are just right!

Heart Of A Warrior

All senses peaked, neurons all firing
Adrenaline pumping, his will is inspiring
Eyes fixed and focused, his will undeterred
His nose smells his opponent's fear
His rage and will to win is unfettered
He knows that victory is near

As the fight rages on, and with every blow
He will be the one left standing
And it is his name the entire world will know
His is the heart of a true warrior,
His will is bigger than his fear
He knows he must continue to fight
Even when defeat seems near.

The heart of a warrior beats strong
Courage runs through his veins
When the smoke and dust clears
He is the one left standing
It is the warrior who remains.

The Heart And The Lie

My heart is aching and feels like it's breaking.
I smile and tell you I'm doing well.
It's a lie, I'm actually going through hell.
As I walk down the street,
I smile at everyone I meet.
It seems that life is going good,
but in my heart I'm screaming.
The pain is too much to bear,
but it seems that no one is there to care.
My soul cries out for the healing touch
of the one that I love so much.
But that one is no where to be found.
So, I smile and wave to those around.
"Life is so good for him", they say.
But what they don't see is the loneliness
I live with each and every day.
So, when you see me and I smile and say " All is okay",
don't believe the lie.
The truth is I'm dying,
And my breaking heart is why.

Forever Forgotten

Trying to get comfortably numb, but it does not soothe the pain in my spirit. There is no balm or elixer, no medicine, nor magick that can release, and no oasis for escape. The light is gone, I grope in the darkest dark, only time fills this void. My world, torn apart by the storms, turned to dust and blown away by the wind. I cry out, but no one hears. Fire burns deep within, the agony is never ending. Deliver me out of this pain! So, it is nothingness that is my lot, I accept this, and float away, all that remains is the echo of my soul cries, the emptiness fills my eyes. Away I float, to the land of the Forever Forgotten.
